Tummy Rub Records prides itself in being a more accessible recording studio for musicians. Everything is negotiable, payment doesn’t have to be all at once, we can always work something out with you! Just ask 😉
Recording
Looking to record with us? Tell us about your project’s needs and we’ve got you covered!
Studio Rates
- Studio Rate with engineer per day is $325 if paying with card, or $310 in cash.
- Studio Rate without an engineer per day is $175 with card, or $150 in cash.
- Studio Hourly Rate with an engineer is $55 with card, or $50 in cash.
- Studio Hourly Rate without an engineer is $30 with card, or $25 in cash.
House band rates
- House band rate range of $50-$100 per musician, per day.
The range and rates depend on the project’s needs, complexity, and the musician’s availability. Just ask for a quote based on your needs and we can work something out.
RECORDING CANCELLATION FEE:
A cancellation fee of $50 will be applied to any cancellations that happen within 42 hours from the scheduled session. The fee may be waived if there’s a request to reschedule the session within the same month.
Mixing and Mastering
Already recorded but need to finish your project? We are here for you!
Mixing
- Mix rate per song is $100 – includes 2
rounds of mix notes , and every additional round is $10
Mastering
- Mastering rate per song is $50 – includes 2 rounds of mastering notes , and every additional
round is $10
If you have multiple songs in one project we can cut you a package deal! Just contact us to negotiate a rate.
Practice Space
Need a place to practice for your gig or session? We have two floors available for renting.
Hourly
Rate is $30 per hour if paying with card, or $25 in cash
Monthly
Rate is $265 a month if paying with card, or $250 in cash.
Monthly rate includes 1 day a week of practice space for the whole month (4 days total).
Practice Day slots are 3 hours. (Ex: Mondays from 5pm-8pm).
Monthly renters get access to our storage rooms. Bands can store up to 2 amps and can negotiate for other storage needs upon request. (Additional terms and conditions apply, please contact us to learn more)

Recording
How do I schedule a session?

What’s a house band?
A house band is bass, drums, and guitar. We also have vocalists that can perform on your record if requested.
What’s a day of recording?
A day of recording typically starts around 10 am and goes until everyone is tired or around 8pm
Where is the studio?
Address is 703 Yates St, Albany NY 12208. There is parking in the front of the garage.
What should I bring?
Your positive attitude! Bring any instruments and amps you’d like to use. We have all sorts of instruments, amps, and gear you can view in the gear list page that is available to use as well. We recommend you bring headphones with a quarter inch adapter if you have it, and there’s a mini-fridge available if you want to bring lunch too!

Is there a PA, Drum Kit and Amps in both floors?
Yes! both floors are fully equipped with all you need to practice. Feel free to ask us a question in case you need anything specific.
